Telugu Association of Connecticut
(TACT) is a non-profit organization registered in
the State of Connecticut (CT). TACT serves and promotes the Telugu
Values, Traditions and Culture amongst the people of CT.
TACT is one of the oldest
Telugu associations in North America. It caters to the
cultural, social and literary needs of the Telugu people
migrated from India as well as their children raised here in
USA. TACT celebrates all the
major annual Telugu festivals such as Sankranti, Ugadi,
Deepavali and Dasara. It strongly encourages participation by
members as well as all the interested individuals and families
living in the area. Other social events include annual
picnic during summer, screening Telugu movies, organizing
special cultural events such as Kavi Sammelan, Ashtavadhanam
and music concerts by visiting artists from India.
To bring together the Telugu community living in the
State of Connecticut
To preserve and maintain the heritage of the people of
Telugu origin
To organize and promote literary, cultural, educational,
religious, social, and community activities of the Telugu
people living in Connecticut
To solicit, raise, and disburse funds for charitable
purposes, cultural, religious and educational activities
directly or in cooperation with other not-for-profit
organizations of America to meet the aforementioned
To assist people of Telugu origin in need and aid newly
arrived members to settle in America
To organize Telugu youth conferences, either
independently or in cooperation with the Telugu or other
associations
To support other national level Telugu associations in
addressing the issues related to Telugu cultural and social
needs
To promote and exchange programs for students,
scientists, and professionals of Telugu origin between US,
India and other countries
